So my mom hasn't been anywhere since our last trip to Hawaii in 2017 and we decided to book a trip to Boston Mother's Day weekend. We have been to Cape Cod in 2015 but my dad skipped Boston for whatever reason.
Have been doing my research and we are very happy to see people from Massachusetts are taking the pandemic very seriously. We got trip insurance just in case things change (because they do by the day). We will be wearing masks all the time when out, practicing the protocols, and eating a lot. We also will get COVID tests before we arrive to be more safe and respectful.
Having said this we are looking at the Omni Parker Hotel downtown (which is haunted apparently and my mom loves it). It's very close to everything and relatively cheap.
In terms of what we are going to venture and do I suppose the main areas of Boston would be Chinatown, Waterfront, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, North End, and Cambridge.
- Thursday (arrive at noon) would be nice to see Chinatown and Waterfront
- Friday we would do the parks as well as Beacon Hill and Back Bay
- Saturday would be North End
- Sunday we could do a "day trip" to Cambridge and see Harvard and check out different less touristic resutrants
- Monday we have a flight back at 5 pm so maybe check Allston for Korean food since we have several hours.
My mom is partially handicapped so taking time is a big key because I want her to enjoy herself and make a wonderful memory with my favorite person. She is also very outgoing and will talk to anyone (will people in Boston be cool with this kinda behavior, she is going to do it anyway because she is like a friendly lady and is a bit aloof).
Aside from this anything else we should know? We want to be very respectful to the peeps of Boston.
