Past Saturday night I was wandering around Boston Common when two very attractive asian girls approached me and point blank asked if I’d invite them dinner. Incredulous, I asked what they meant (face palm) and one of them elaborated:
“We’re students and wanted to go out tonight, but don’t have much money, so we thought about asking some handsome boy to invite us. We can go for dinner, drinks, dance, ‘maybe more’”. (Yes, she said that last part). They were dressed up like they were ready to go clubbing and certainly seemed (to me) like students. Needless to say, they were openly flirty in their demeanour.
I’d like to think that my prudence saved me from waking up without kidneys, but, at that moment, it was likely my insecurities telling me to run away from the situation. I’m not fugly or creepy (I hope), but definitely not men’s-health-cover-model level of attractive and the only times I’ve been spontaneously approached by women in the street was for donations. So I said no and moved on.
I’d just like to gather local opinions/insight: Is this a common thing in Boston/Cambridge? Was I at risk of having my drink spiked and my bank account emptied? Was I going to be offered some “service”? Were these students just trying to swindle free dinners and drinks from some rando? Or I am complete idiot who missed on the night of his life?
