iPhone 11 to Bose Sounddock series 1

I just got a new sound board for my Bose sound dock series 1 and I tried to use my iPhone 11 with a lightning to 30 pin adapter and I can’t get any sound. I confirmed the speaker is working with my old iPod but I cannot get the iPhone to play through the speaker. Any solutions?
