Ok so I applied for the CBP position and filled out the application, then i did the questionnaire that is asked of you after finishing the application to see if you are “eligible.” Long story short I got another email to schedule the exam which I did and ended up passing. After a couple of weeks I got an email saying I do not qualify for GS-5 or GS-7 because I do not meet the requirements . This kind of got my hopes up as I was hoping to get hired by the end of this year. I called the number which was on the email and the person who answered said if I meet the qualifications to just apply again. She said the test would be waived, but I’m not sure this is 100% true.

I’m tempted to apply again but I’m scared of getting rejected again. Does anyone have any tips or see a reason as to why I don’t meet the requirements for GS-5. I know I don’t have a bachelor’s degree or Law Enforcement experience, so I don’t expect to be considered GS-7.
