which side quest to do on normal....

Hey all! Loving the game so far, just got Maya to the monastery and having a blast. I was hoping to go thru the normal mode asap n then take my time with the whole game on TVHM, including the side quest/challenges/etc. I'm playing mainly solo with Zane and am seeing that I am going to need to find other ways to level up besides the main quests. trying to minimize the sides that I have to do, what would be the 5-10 main sides that you recommend worth doing on first playthrough (i just did the coffee one).

Also, any other ways to help with XP or starting tips would be helpful....
