Elpis is a vault key?

Crazy theory I came up with in the middle of the night. What if Elpis is a giant vault key. Rembering back to the hidden message in the borderlands poster «moon=key», the news/rumors of different vault keys having different shapes, and Jack in The pre-Sequel wondering if Elpis is one giant hollow eridian structure.
So Elpis might be one giant Vault key used to open some cosmic level Vault. Just crazy theorizing.
