Self Promotion in this Sub?
Post Body

I'm not a mod and I don't want to sound like a jerk, but...

Recently, there's been an influx of posts that provide unsolicited book suggestions (as opposed to posts where an OP solicits suggestions for books). That's cool, but I worry that this sub might turn into an advertising section that might kinda suck. Personally, I always thought this sub was a place where people asked for advice for what to read next (hence "crowdsourced book recommendations that don't suck"), not a place where people post links to their favorite books or their own work. Personally, I think it's really cool if another redditor publishes something, I just don't think this sub is the best place to announce it.

So what does the rest of /r/booksuggestions think? Should we ban these types of posts. Should we keep them? Should I shut up and go away?

EDIT: Looks like I'm the only who's bothered by this. I'll shut up
