Looking for Asian or African history/historical fiction, preferably written by authors from those places.
Post Body

It’s a pretty broad request, so here are some books I’ve read that are similar to what I’m looking for. - The Buried (literary journalism/history, Arab Spring & Egypt) - The Shadow King (historical fiction, WWII Ethiopia) - Last Boat out of Shanghai (anecdotal history, Cultural Revolution)

It’s important to me to find authors that have first hand, preferably personal familiarity of the region/culture they’re writing about.

Thanks!
