Recommend me something similar to Raymond Chandler

Hi all. I read (and recently re-read) all of Chandler's books and I am in love with Phillip Marlowe (now even more in love).

I need more. MORE. I don't like Poirot because he isn't man enough for me and I don't like James Bond because he's a bit too... not hard boiled. A bit too clean. But too... European. Like Poirot. I do like Sherlock but for different reasons and I'm not feeling the detective as I am the noir and the emotional fortress that both dudes are. So something 50's, preferably by an American. Maybe earlier. Could even have WW2 references, but I don't think I'm too interested in that.
