Mystery/Horror/SciFi books that explore alternate universes/worlds in a creeping horror kind of way?
Post Body

Hard to explain, but I'm looking for works that explore alternate universes/realities/worlds in the style of the excellent SCP Wiki stories.

In case you've never read the SCP wiki, it chronicles fake paranormal beings/devices/structures in an almost clinical/scientific way. Kind of like reading the actual X-File case files themselves... the reports slowly build a sense of horror/panic through first hand interviews and transcriptions. For example, check out the "Blue, Green, Violet, Yellow" tests at the bottom of the SCP-093 page. Although I've never read Lovecraft, I guess people would describe this style as Lovecraftian.

Also thinking of stories that evoke the same feeling of space-horror as the DeadSpace video games.

Any ideas?
