I recently began 2666 by Roberto Bolaño and I really love the academic angle of it. All the talk of Archimboldi and the professors at the beginning reminds me of House of Leaves and to a lesser degree Infinite Jest. I'm just apprehensive about the femicide aspect of the book for personal reasons. What are some books that would scratch the itch of academic themes but are maybe lighter in tone at least as far as not being about serial woman killings? Also I've been exploring postmodern literature so I would appreciate recs in that area. Hope this makes sense and thank you so much :)
