Do you read fiction AND non-fiction?

I have been strictly a reader of fiction pretty much all my life, save for when I had to read non-fiction when I was in school. But now, I am interested in reading some non-fiction because, well, I just want to know more about history.
I guess my question is: do you read both? Do they somehow inform or influence each other? Do you have a preference?
