I’ve started reading the works of H.P Lovecraft and he has awoken a truth in me. I’m an idiot.
Post Body

His words are crafted well and cleverly to say the least, but I’d be lying if I wasn’t merely speculating at their meanings. Every page forces yet another wave of the awful truth I try to resist. My vocabulary is sorely lacking. Does anyone know a good way to learn more useful words so I can better understand older literature and seem less like a fool? Perhaps a thesaurus of useful tools for a reader or writer? Or is it better to just continually look up every word I don’t know and try to commit to memory the meaning of each one?
