[META] Does anyone else find the comments section style distracting?

Post Body

Every time I enter the comments of an /r/books thread, I find the CSS of the comments to be very distracting and hard to follow. I frequently find myself having to re-adjust to what comments replies are for, or even whether something is a subcomment or root reply.

Specifically, root comments having no padding at all with the left edge of the browser feels disjointed, and there's very little space between the comments and replies themselves. Contrast this with the front-page of /r/books and it's much different, it uses a dense card style which is much easier to distinguish separate threads.

Anyway I may be the only one, design is subjective, but it's bothersome that it feels like when you're deep into a book and something about the wording/fourth wall/whatever breaks you out of it, that's how I feel reading conversations in /r/books.
