Just a little appreciation for this beautiful work of historical fiction. I read this novel in junior year of high school. It was required reading. Ya know, when something is required by a teacher, I usually blow it off 💯. I didn't in this case. I read the book. I graduated high school ten years ago, and I'm still so grateful that I took the time to read this wonderful book. Sydney Carton... wow. What a complete and honest literary portrait of a man. His selflessness literally brings tears to my eyes. The depiction of the war between the classes is simply riveting. If you're assigned this book, please... please, please, please... give it an honest chance. Don't blow it off. Open your mind. You will be so glad you did 💯.
