So, I'm embarking on a project to rebind a couple of my favorite books with unique leather covers. I've done a ton of research (both on this subreddit and elsewhere) and I feel pretty prepared to do it...which makes me nervous. While I don't have specific experience in bookbinding, I am pretty good at scrapbooking (working with paper) and sewing (working on occasion with leather). Therefore, my question for /r/bookbinding is this: what are the most common mistakes you see amateur bookbinders make? What should I avoid doing?

Holy shit. I hadn't seen his videos before, but I just looked them up and geez. That's way too much glue. With pages warped like that, clearly that's too much moisture.
Do you have a tutorial or video you recommend as a positive example of glue control?
