Post Body

I've been doing bookbinding for a good year now, I'm ok, not amazing. So far I've been able to work with what I've got. I mostly restore older books, and when making anything new I use printer paper, scrap materials, and sewing thread sinew. My hunter gatherer instincts has been of great use lol

I also don't have the "proper" tools, I legit use a flower press as my book press, I've used elastics to achieve certain shapes, and I hand paint using old gold ink instead of doing gold leafing. I've taken every shortcut possible to achieve an "ok" book that looks nice.

However I'd like to finally commit to the hobby, I have a lot of ideas that I'd like to try out but don't know where to get quality materials. like the faux leather or the fancy end papers. Leather or the cloth, I've seen some on Etsy but usually the quality isn't there, or it's wayy to thick to glue and maneuver.

So I'd love to hear what y'all use, it would be VERY much appreciated 🙏
