i love doing bonsai with difficult species, and this geranium that was gifted to me is no different. it bloomed amazingly throughout the summer, and me, being the person who hates annuals and plant death generally, i want my babies to survive long and prosperously. i took the geranium indoors and so far this winter it has been doing great under my grow lights, showing lots of new growth even though it was super rootbound. about a month ago i took it out of the little 1 gallon pot it was in, and repotted it into a much larger pot. since then it has been growing vigorously, and ive been cutting off any leaves that grow large enough to block other leaves from receiving sunlight. This seems to be helping ramification loads! iβm wondering if any of you have any knowledge on the growing patterns of these plants, how might i be able to increase the trunk width and amount of ramification? also, what can i do about dust and debris getting stuck on the hairy leaves? i really love the style of the plant so far, but i feel like it could be way better if it had twice itβs trunk width and twice the amount of ramification, if you get what i mean. thank you! feel free to leave criticisms or recommendations below as i am new to bonsai and could use the advice.
