Why do CCP(China gov) Bonds only pay ~2% but US pay ~4.5%?

Why would anybody buy a Chinese bond… ever, if you make half as much money? Does that mean people are that much more confident in china’s ability to pay it back? Or is it because USA is expected to have 2x the inflation compared to Chinese currency?

The banking system in China is largely under control of the CCP.
For the purpose of the BIG 5 banks, which all have more assets than JPMC, they will so often buy Chinese Central Government bonds (short term).
