Hey everyone! So here's the story...

I've had 2 stretched piercings in both my lobes for years. Each one was initially pierced with a 8g needle and an immediate stretch to 6g. Bottom piercing was stretched to 0g and the upper secondary remained at 6g. Somehow a combination of extremely dry skin and mild trauma (taking jewelry in and out) resulted in some small tears on the inner surface of my 0g piercing in my left ear and my 6g in my right. So I did the sensible thing and took all my jewelry out, started saline soaks, washed with mild soap every day x2, and emu oil massage x2 per day. Kept this routine for 2ish weeks to allow everything to heal.

Now I've started restretching with the goal of achieving a larger size in all piercings. As always, taking things slow and allowing things to heal. My 0g in both ears lost a little bit of size but are comfortably rocking a 4g with no issues. My 6g in both ears are worrisome though. Upon starting again I slowly passed a taper through each piercing and stopped when I started to feel the slightest stretch. This happened at the 8g mark. So I happily placed some 8g stainless single flared tunnels in each ear and went on with my day (keeping up standard aftercare routine of course).

My issue is, when I sleep at night my jewelry comes out in both of the secondary 8g piercings. So I then have to find the jewelry, wash it and my ears, and reinsert it all over again. I'm worried that this is causing undo trauma to the piercing and hampering the healing process. Should I just go ahead and stretch to 6g or keep up this crazy routine for a few more weeks and hope everything heals properly?
