I’m asking because I used to be absolutely in love with bodybuilding. I was 215 and 5’8.5, a tiny bit juicy perhaps, and loved the gym more than anything. I was 21 and had (have) a very bad and dysfunctional family, didn’t have a gf, so it really was all I had and I was naturally gifted at it. Gave me stability.
Fast forward to today, 28, long term gf who I absolutely love, stably self employed business (kinda stable still poor lol), and a better social life now. I believe I used to train to get girls primarily and therapeutically second. I’m down to 165 soaking wet, lean but look like shit. My gf loves me like I am and doesn’t want me to go that hard again, but I’m sorta all or nothing with many things. Trying to get addicted to it without pinning (T levels recovered to average). Just wondering if anyone has experience coming back into the lifestyle after a fairly long layoff, with much fewer exterior motivators. Thank you!
Roger doger bro. Thanks a ton for the thought out reply. Will keep all this in mind, and no not trying to compete. Too much health and fertility risk, although I believe I have decent genetics for it. Maybe a natty comp if my muscle comes back in a hurry.Â
Beatiful man. Thinking about trt soon, miss the enhanced feeling, but want to see how high I can get my natty levels at 28 first. I know mine jump up a ton, I’m sure everyone’s does but I didn’t expect such an increase when I begin lifting. Any advice before jumping on the train (again)?Â
Wow guys the responses motivated me a ton, going to the gym soon as I’m off the toilet lol. The fact that so many people were eager to share means there has to be something stronger than vanity tied to bodybuilding. Thank you all very much, talk to yall soon I hope.
Dude so interesting! I’m glad yours is a very happy story. As we get older, what you are pursuing now will serve us 10x better, however im glad to hear you are healthy.
So happy for you that you stuck with it! I’m going back to the gym today. Thanks for sharing brother

Got u dude, thanks for sharing! Glad you have a home gym tho, you must be doing great. I too was all about using bodybuilding to hook up on tinder hahaha. It was a big motivator, now as I stated in my og post I have a long term gf, so it’s one less motivator. Want to look good for her but she likes me a lot as it is, so I need other motivators. Hope you’re well boss
