Mercruiser 3.0 carb issue?

Hey folks, so I've been having issues with my Merc 3.0 lately. It will crank all day long and starts when I put gas directly into the carb. I just replaced the fuel pump as the previous one was gone. Was hoping that would solve my problem. Now it cranks and gets fuel up the hose to the carb but it won't turn over unless I pour the gas directly into the carb. I'm guessing a needle is clogged?! Is there anyways to fix this without taking the carb completely apart? Any help is much appreciated!
