That time of year again
Post Body

I have a 2005 Chaparral with a 4.3 Mercruiser IO. Looking for opinions on the best / easiest way to winterize. Last year I made a rig where I had a 5 gallon bucket with a Y valve installed in the bottom. Basically I ran water with muffs until the motor was up to temp (15-20 minutes or so) then flipped the valve and let RV antifreeze get pulled in until the fluid coming from the exhaust was nice and pink. This seems to have worked fine as my boat ran just fine this year. But I have seen a lot of people saying this method is unreliable. What is everyone's thoughts? Should I continue or should I do the full pull of the plugs and fill the hoses?
