Would you feel confident mounting a down-rigger to this aluminum plate? It’s just screwed into wood sheet with no backing.

I mean unless your clips malfunction and not release a fish, that plate won’t see much stress as it’s just really the weight of the ball. Personally I’d mount it up and give it a good wiggle test. Thru bolting it with a backing plate would be best though.
