Can I use a jump pack as a battery

Ok so I have this 1964 ish star craft with a mercury KH something motor all I know is it’s apparently the motor that made mercury famous but anyway I don’t have the money right now to get a battery for the boat and I want to just see if it runs so can I hook up a jump pack to the positive and negative wires to get it started this is just to see if it turns over it is not a long time thing
