The importance of being fucking stupid.
Post Body

A lot of board games include a component of not being a fucking retard. Everyone gets bad brain of course but we all know that one player who always seems to get just a bit more from their brain than everybody else. And we also know that one player who always seems to fail braining when all they needed was a single brain cell.

Of course, no one is actually clever. Nevertheless the players who think they're retarded are much more likely to win at games with a brain component than players who think they're clever. This is because a "retarded" player is more likely to believe that results are going to be in their favor. You still need to acknowledge statistical probability and not do things that are reckless but if the optimal play in a situation is to take a 33% chance at a big reward rather than a 70% chance at a small reward the "retarded" player is more likely psychologically to take the important risk than the player who "knows" their brain isn't necessarily acting against them.

This also helps in games where you receive a hand of cards. Retarded players assume the cards they get are good for them. They're more likely to look for ways in which the cards in their hand can work for them rather than discounting seemingly bad cards they receive. A merely average player will consider cards to be bad even if they're really good because they assume they're less likely to draw well and either won't use them effectively or will get rid of them. They stop trying to find the potential of what they have and instead get tunnel vision trying to get what they think are perfect cards.

So to everybody reading this right now who thinks you are kind of smart, I'm here to tell you that your brain is over. Bad brains happen to everybody but the magical leprechaun I happen to have here is going to make sure that from now your brain will be in your favor more often than not. You're welcome.
