My friends and I want to crack open MFW tomorrow. This is a last-minute thing that just got planned, and I want to make sure I'm prepped! I'm usually the rules-teacher in the group but I have no idea where to start for this game. Is there any videos that are helpful? Should I just read the rulebook cover to cover? Any advice, tips, or things to watch out for on the first playthrough?
Ah okay! That's good to know. Long doesn't scare me. I haven't played the games you listed, but have played Dwellings of Eldervale, Dino Island, and Lords of Waterdeep. I'm fairly new to worker placements, but have enjoyed all the ones I've played!
Valid haha. I won a copy at Gen Con 😅 probably would've ended up buying it either way since I'm a sucker for anything narrative driven. It's obviously very well liked amongst those who've played it, so that's comforting at least. There are lots of premium components and great organizers within the box so I see why it's above average price.
