Hi everyone,
we're entering the final stretch of our Kickstarter campaign for Duelists.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/knothorn/duelists
It's been a wild ride, and it's even more difficult for a small unknown company to get production funded than we initially anticipated - it clearly requires a much larger marketing budget from the get go. We've also been a bit unlucky with official reviewers - one took the money and never got back to us, one had a close family member hospitalized just when we were going live and they wanted to talk about us, and hundreds of others never got back to us or asked for outrageous sums to cover us.
All in all, we're still closing in on our goal, which is just getting the game into production. We're not doing this to make money, we're doing this because Duelists is a genuinely great two-player game, and there's not enough great two-player games with good replay value out there,
One of the core complaints (and we agree) was that shipping is way too high. While we found a way to probably lower it, we can't guarantee it one hundred percent, and we'll rather have a pleasant surprise than an unpleasant one when it comes to shipping.
For those who worry about shipping, we have just introduced the Crafty Warrior pledge, where you will get the same files we're going to send our manufacturer for 6€ and zero shipping costs.
We'd be very happy if you could check out the game and help spread the news, and help us use Kickstarter the way it was intended! <3
