Post Body

While the WSIG Wars rage on, I encourage everyone to, if not back, at least join me in a good laugh: Skittering Darkness.

The team at Game Salute has delivered hundreds of successful Kickstarter campaigns including our own published titles and those we've helped independent publishers run and fulfill.

In truth, the last Shadowrift KS for the 2nd edition of the base game, and the Sickle Moon expansion, was both successful and fairly well-run. The designer, Jeremy Anderson, appears to be a decent gent, and the one outright mistake in the Shadowrift KS was corrected with cards sent out, for free, to every backer. They turned out a very nice edition of a good game, with real fake coins, updated art and layout, extra rulebook clarity, etc.

Shadowrift is a fantasy co-op deckbuilder where a group of heroes defend a town against a horde of monsters. The monster decks vary a lot; dragons burn you and spoil your draws, the undead produce stacks of corpses that overrun the town, werewolves make people extra hairy and uncouth, and so on. Hero turns are simultaneous, and the range of interactions you can put together as everyone gains different items, abilities, spells, and skills is an interesting constant puzzle to conspire over.

You can get the base game and previous expansion should you so wish.

I am not now, nor have I ever been, a Game Salutist and am only giving them my money (grudgingly).
