I'm looking for games where two players (or more) alternate in setting and solving a puzzle with progressive clues, like in Mastermind.
This is for playing between a 7-year old and an adult. It should let the adult give "extra" hints to the child if desired, but be challenging for the adult if the child gives no extra hints.
Not looking for simultaneous solvers (like Battleship). If it's taking-turns, we can ignore the scoring system and just take turns giggling at each others' inability to solve the puzzle; if it's simultaneous, it's always clear who wins "first" which we don't want. Also looking for it to be a board game with pieces (we have plenty of game ideas like 20 questions if it's just word-guessing).
Other than Mastermind, I have Black Box that fits this category - we adore that one right now.
