Hosting my first board game night with a baby, dog, and new gamers...
Post Body

I live about 45 minutes northwest of D.C. Pretty nervous about the whole situation. Seasoned game night hosts... What tips do you have for someone preparing to host? The house is clean, and everyone knows I have a baby to put to bed. Also , I only invited people who know me, but I told them they can bring whoever they want.

I have to teach pretty much any game we play. I have Agricola, settlers of catan and the expansions, ascension, the resistance, coup, love letter, ticket to ride, twilight struggle, cards against humanity, nuns on the run, times up, carcassone, telestrations, hanabi, munchkin, panic on Wall Street, 7 wonders, and dixit odyssey.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Success! Only a few people showed up, but it worked out perfectly. I had them play Love Letter while I put the baby to sleep, which I think they're going to go and buy at B&N! Afterwards, we went into the back room, where it was quieter for the baby, and had beer, liquor, and some snack food available. We played No Thanks! and then Ticket to Ride, for a total of about 2 1/2 hours of gaming, which was perfect for the group we had. I guess it's just all about flexibility and knowing who it is you're hanging out with. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, it was a lot of fun! Now, we'll see if anyone shows up next week... Same Bat-time, same bat-channel!
