So my FLGS is having a Grand Opening Sale this weekend. So I'll definitely be heading down there to pick something up. Any suggestions?
My collection is rather small and a few of my games are from a friend moving and me taking whatever board games she was going to throw out. But if you factor those out you'll get a basic understanding what I'm interested in.
Minus
I'm open to pretty most things but I support even though I probably do want another traitor mechanic game I'm pretty settled on deciding between Shadowhunters, and Resistance. I'm not looking for the heavy strategy war games. I'm just not at that level yet. Yes that Dominion Big Box is still sealed and I've had that for about a month.
Plus
I wouldn't be opposed to some worker placement games or even more party games. If I play at home it'll probably be with people who aren't into gaming so I've found that Anomia tends to be insanely popular where I am. Though I've been interested in things like Ugg-Tect but I have some dudes that will take club smashing offensively. Or actually any other holes that are missing. I'm really tempted to pick up DC Deck Builder or Sentinels. DC Because I love me some DC and I loved the game when I played it. Sentinels because I usually play by myself and unlike Death Angel I think I could convince the odd person to join in. But if I do I'm a little concerned I'll just have too many deckbuilders and as a whole I don't think that appeals to my friends.
Equal
I'm also trying to create a game for my sister (something small and simple) based on a book. My plan was to just copy elements from games that do work and just sort of build a retheme for her class. Problem is that I'm so new I don't really have a large lexicon of game mechanics that I could adapt. A board is supposed to be central for the design and most of the games I own and have played are card-based.
Edit: :sigh: I can't believe I messed up that WSIG tag. and there's really no way to fix it? Bugger. If I'd had to choose one I would have wanted the other tag. Oh well. E: oh wait there was... awesome.
