What 1-3 questions would you ask someone for whom you are hosting a game night to try to determine which game(s) from your collection would be a good fit?
See comment for my answers, but would love to hear thoughts from others.
Context: I'm a gamer who has been in the hobby about a dozen years, and am putting the finishing touches on a designated gaming space in my home for the first time. I have several friends with very limited exposure to modern board games, but are definitely gamers, with plenty of TTRPG and video games experience. They are excited to come by and learn new games. My collection is around 150 titles, skewing more towards midweight and thematic games than heavy euros, but otherwise I think it's pretty balanced. Putting new players in front of a wall of games seems like a bad choice, so I am trying to come up with some questions I could ask before our meetup to let me pull a handful of titles off the shelf for them to select from when they arrive.
