Basically as the roller you can use the white dice and/or one white and one colored. The disagreement is the order of operations when using both for the same color.
Example: both white dice are 2’s and the yellow di is a 1.
Person A: you must first use the white combo then the white/color, so you can only mark a 4 for yellow, not a 3 and 4.
Person B: you can mark the 3 for yellow using the white 2 and yellow 1, then mark the 4 on yellow using the white combo.
The rules are NOT clear. It vaguely says you announce and white combo to the group to decide “and then” can use the white with a color. But it doesn’t ever explicitly say you have to do this order of operations. If that was the rule it would be more clear. I am person B. What do you think?
