My bmpcc4k isnt focusing

I just started filming so i dont understand everything about cameras. But I just got my black magic pocket and a Panasonic lumix lecia dg vario elmarit 12-60mm lens and I cant get it to focus. It focuses sometimes but gets blurry the second I move. The len’s back motor affects the focal length but the front motor does nothing, is that normal? I thought the front motor would change focus. Can anyone help out with an explanation to how to get the focus and tips in general for the bmpcc, especially for a noob beginner.
