Pocket 4k: What version of prores would you shoot on that is most similar to braw 12:1?
Post Body

Hey all,

Second shooting a wedding tomorrow. The guy I shoot with usually shoot 12:1 braw, all 4k. I am editing this particular wedding and requested to shoot prores. I haven't really used braw much personally and prores cuts great in premiere.

Which prores option would you choose for the most similar quality? Originally I thought prores LT but the files are much larger than braw 12:1. Now I'm thinking just shoot prores proxy. Proxy is 24MB/s and it looks like braw 12:1 is about 21 MB/s at 24fps.

My only other questions is would the quality of slow motion degrade shooting prores proxy? I have used it before and have had no issues with my personal stuff, but I'll probably be grading this wedding a bit more than most of my projects. I think braw automatically increases the data when switching to 60fps, but I don't thing prores proxy does.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any advice!
