Hi

This is something strange i have noticed with my BMMCC. So a quick summary: I have got several Nikon G lens 35mm & 50mm F1.8 (relevant to this discussion) that I have been using for my videos recently. I have got a metabones speedbooster for BMPCC that I am using with this for it to work and also as a focal reducer.

Now here's the interesting part, I am not getting those dreamy background blurs or even close to nicely blurred backgrounds that I have been so used to getting with these same lenses on D3300. I know that it is an APS-C sensor and BMMCC is MFT but I have also got a speedbooster on latter. FYI, I am obviously testing for these background blurs with apertures wide open to 1.8 which on D3300 can simply be done in camera but with BMMCC I have to use speedbooster ring markings.

What am i missing here or is this simply how sensors work in these cameras?
