Last night I recorded a concert. It was extremely last minute (as in, I was leaving for the show when the request was communicated to me.....). Currently, I only have 2 sd cards, neither of which are approved for the BMPCC4k. However, I have mostly been filming for myself shooting in ProRes, and the cards work fine. For this show, to have enough time to accommodate all the bands, only 12:1 RAW seemed to give enough recording time (please note, I did not have much time to experiment with various resolutions......& I once I was filming I realized that I was in 4k)....
The footage came out fine. I have the camera set to stop recording if I have dropped frames; I had none. Each band played for approximately 40 minutes. The camera recorded to the sd cards perfectly. I want to know if I'm potentially setting myself up for failure if I continue to use these cards in the camera?
Edit: the cards used were:
- PNY Superior Pro 128GB
- Kingston Canvas React 256GB
