Im convinced Calypso is some sort of benevolent angel who sparks kindness and imagination in the children.

Every interaction we see of Calypso, she is inspiring the children to be kind amd imaginative, which then bleeds into the community where everyone has the most beautiful imagination and playful attitude. She us at the heart of why we love the characters so much.
In fact, her role in "Typewriter" is the same as the wizard in "Wizard of Oz," which i now see is a double entendre as they are in Australia... whoah...
