Can I sanitize and use ocean driftwood in my tank?

Post Body

I live near the beach and sometimes I see really nice pieces of driftwood washing up. I recently upgraded my Northern's enclosure and now there's more room for decorations.

Would it be smart to use the found driftwood? What would be the best way to sanitize it without having it be toxic to my lizard?

I clean the rest of his decorations in a bleach/water solution, but I worry that the bleach will soak into the real wood and release fumes that would hurt my skink.

Any advice? I'd hate to spend $60 on pet store driftwood when there's natural wood so close.
