I just upgraded my adult Northern's enclosure and this one holds heat much better than my last one.
I had been aiming to keep his basking spot about 98-100, but now his basking rock heats to 108-112. He has plenty of space on the other side of the tank to cool, but he seems to spend most of his time on the hot side.
I want to make sure he's not going to be burned or overheat.
From what I've researched, the recommended basking temp for a Northern seems to be anywhere from 90-115 depending on the source.
is 112 okay or should I buy a weaker bulb? Any personal experience or sources I should look into?
