Hello all, I’m AMAB and recently at the age of 30 realized I am trans. I haven’t came out to anybody yet other than a couple of friends that are also members of the LGBTQ community. I want to transition but have some fears on doing so.
One of my biggest fears is coming out at work, I’m a shop supervisor in a service shop. I worry about it because I have at least 1 coworker and my boss that is homo/trans phobic and I also have already had a couple customers say some things about my hair (growing it out). How should/can I deal with this? I don’t want to leave my job because I have been there 10 years and do enjoy the work I do most days. Also for those in the industry, how did your customers take you transitioning?
