Headaches and high blood pressure
Post Body

Good afternoon/morning/evening Reddit, I have a little issue I'd value people's opinion on.

I have high blood pressure, and have had for at least ten years. It first came to light when I was treated for Hodgkins Disease in 2007/8, but nothing has ever been done about it, until this year. This year they finally decided to prescribe something to help me, and so I was put on 5mg of Lisinopril, daily.

However, I recently went to the Dr complaining about chest pains, and they believe I now have angina. This was a bit of a shock, I'm 43 and exercise regularly, don't smoke, drink caffeine etc. But it was explained that previous bouts of radiotherapy may have caused it. So now I'm on beta blockers, statins and my Lisinopril has been doubled to 10mg.

Now for the real problem; for the last week I've had an incredibly painful headache. It's localised to the left side of my head, mainly the top and back, running down into my neck sometimes. My GP says it's definitely caused by high blood pressure as he thinks it's still not under control. But obviously, after a week of it coming and going, I'm a little concerned.

Does anyone here have any experience with this type of head pain, and a connection with high blood pressure? I'd very much appreciate anything anyone can contribute.

Thanks in advance.
