Any tips for a starter?

I know what I'm getting into because about a year ago I started and made it about 2 bosses in and lost my game, but now I'm starting up again legitimately I was wondering what tips I should know?
I remember asking this about DKS2 on its sub when I started it and was told "Burn the windmill", and that went on to be the best tip they could have gave me
