I just started Bloodborne a few hours ago and to say it's challenging would be the biggest understatement in history. I spent the better part of two hours having my ass handed to me by those townspeople freaks in Central Yharnam, but now I've learned their attack patterns and I can get to the area with the brick troll and the big fountain pretty easily. Still, I'm scared to venture much further so I've been farming around that area over and over.

Any tips for a fresh noob to make the experience less harrowing? It'd also be nice if someone could explain the insane stat sheet for this game. All the different statistic types are really confusing to me, so it'd be great to get a rundown on those.
