Mass Effect 2 features a female character code named Subject Zero aka Jack whom you rescue from a prison. She is covered head to toe in tattoos similar to Jane. During the game she recalls memories of being tortured and trained at a secret facility and asks you, the leader of the squad to take her back to this facility so that she might get closer on what was done to her.

You discover that she was kept there since she was a child along with lots of other children and experimented on to hone her powers and turn her into a killing machine. They would drug her and force her to fight and kill the others. Her memories of what happened to her are fragmented. At this same facility she meets one of the men that worked there during her stay who explains the story of what happened to her far differently than the way she remembers. He is trying to get the place up and running again in order to start the project over with more children.
