"Another Holy War" is off the album "Imaginations from the Other Side". Imaginations from the Other Side is the fifth studio album by Blind Guardian that was released in 1995. The atmosphere of this album is darker in comparison to their earlier works.

Many fans see this album as a turning point in Guardian's music. Their songs started to get more complicated in their structure. It was also Blind Guardian's last album with Hansi playing bass.

Possible Interpretation:

The song is talking about the last days of Jesus Christ. The song opens by establishing that it's Jesus speaking with the lines "I am God, the only one". The lyrics throughout convey some of his thoughts and feelings during the Crucifixion process. Jesus talks about the pain and agony while wishing there could be another way. However, he realizes that there isn't and what he's doing will open up the gates of paradise and bring rescue to man.
