Help!, keep loosing select box/lasso ability

Hello,
Quick question. Not sure why but I keep loosing the ability to select with the box/Lasso.
Circle always works.
After a while the box lasso won’t do anything if I click and drag.
If I press shift or control they work, but regular mouse click nothing.
Thanks for any help 🙏
I keep on having to reset factory settings to fix the drag select.
Anyone know why this is happening?. :(
