Messed up materials after joining meshes

Hey everyone! Ive been messing around with different processes of getting my stylized picard to a animation ready state and ran into an issue I cant figure out.

I had 2 different retopo's of the sculpt. I had Mesh One with an accurate shape but no eyebags/mouth bag, and Mesh Two with an inaccurate shape but with eye/mouth bag's ( this one had also been textured at one point). I made a copy of Mesh Two deleted its uv map and deleted all of the mesh except the bags. I then joined this with Mesh one using control J. and went into edit mode. I used vertext snapping and auto merge to connect the vertex's of the bags to the head. I then unwrapped this and it seemed to unwrap ok although the lips are closed on this unwrap? Im not sure if thats a problem or not. I tried to make a quick tecture paint and found that the eyes and i assume mouth bag are using the previous texture and im not able to paint on the actual head itself. how to i combine them into 1?
