Making a regular iphone Video into one with VFX (fire/ animations/ monsters etc)

Wondering if anyone knew of a good blender tutorial that shows how to add more advanced (or intermediate) VFX to a video shot on a phone. Kind of like the kid thats playing in the puddle and suddenly falls in....want to learn how to do that and much more
